Full Huntress / Blood Moon 2019

I love Autumn so much. And this week, we had some of our first real, fall weather for the year. I also recently celebrated a birthday with friends and family, and in the past month, completed the first section of my Daoist training.

The Huntress / Blood Moon is traditionally the time when one hunts game and culls the herds, storing meat for the upcoming Winter. It has found me working at culling some bad habits, and storing their healthier counterparts for the introspective season.

I am working on a daily Qigong practice, integrating what I’ve learned thus far from my Shifu. I am also trying to apply the Daoist wisdom I am learning to my efforts to cultivate a healthier life. I have so much to learn!

Soon, it will be the Chinese seasonal node of “Cold Dew”, where the lower temperatures will bring a chilly morning dew. The admonition is to: “Process any grief and sadness as we further prepare for eventuality of increasing yin and darkness. Nature withdraws inside. Find comfort in this and embrace that we are a part of, and not apart from all things.” (Thank you, The Path of Three Pure Rivers)

I recently felt deep grief and loss, from a few different directions in my life. I mourned, and I still feel somewhat tender. But I believe it has truly been processed. I accept that all things ebb and flow. Including me, my relationships, and my mortal existence. I simply needed, and need, to let go.

“Those who seek the Way,
Let go of something every day.
They let go and let go,
Until reaching no action.
When nothing is done,
Nothing is left undone.”

~ Tao Te Ching
