First Illumination, 2023

February 2023 began today. It is a time of many different, Spring-yearning celebrations and observances, including Imbolc, Candlemas, St. Brigid’s Day, Groundhog Day, and leads to the Chinese node of Spring’s Beginning, and the Lantern Festival. Because so much emphasis is placed on beginnings, inspiration, and new life and light, I may just sum it up by calling it ‘First Illumination’.

This is a perfect time to put my first toes in the water, so to speak, with this web page. Despite hoping that I would have it at least share-able by the Chinese New Year, I missed that mark a touch. There is still so much to do, so many blanks to fill in, but there are many reasons to at least step into the light a bit.

A synchronous moment occurred a few hours ago, when a lovely woman I hadn’t talked to recently asked me what I up to with my recent, formally recognized ordination. I had to laughingly answer that this was where I was… holding this web page like a tiny seed, and hoping to grow it full and helpfully. I do want it to be of use to others – to anyone, really!

So, please excuse the ‘mess / devoid-ness’, as I get things growing! And have an insightful, inspiring February!
